Tufflak® SL Prolonged exposure to the sun can weather even the most
durable of surfaces. In the past, acrylic was often chosen for plastic glazing applications because of its inherent resistance to yellowing over time. But compared to polycarbonate, the relative brittleness of acrylic made its impact strength insufficient for demanding, vandal resistant applications. Tufflak SL offers the best of both worlds– the impact protection of Tufflak® polycarbonate sheet and the UV resistance of acrylic. Utilizing advanced formulations combined with state-of-the-art extrusion technology, Plaskolite has created a tough, consistent quality product that will exhibit superior performance for years to come.

Performance Warranty: The performance of Tufflak® SL polycarbonate sheet has been well documented through years of laboratory and field testing. In side-by- SunLife Polycarbonate Sheet Light Diffusing Tufflak® LD Sheet is a highly UV stable polycarbonate product designed to provide superior light diffusion characteristics while maintaining high light transmission. The proprietary diffuser technology eliminates visible hot spots from pinpoint LED lights in typical flat and formed sign applications. The sheet is easy to form, fabricate and decorate and has excellent impact strength and dimensional stability. Tufflak® LD is offered with a ten (10) year limited product warranty against breakage.The terms of the warranty, are available upon request. Light Diffusing Sheet side comparative testing under severe conditions, Tufflak® SL polycarbonate sheet consistently outperformed competitive materials utilizing older technology. Materials were also tested in forms and bends well beyond recommended guidelines, proving that the integrity of SL, as well as its UV resistance, will not change if the sheet is bent or cold-formed. So conclusive was this testing that Plaskolite offers a limited warranty against excessive yellowing, loss of light transmission, and breakage.
Economy grade is the least expensive grade, and
is ideal for flat surfaces. Primary applications are direct
print, rugged signs where vinyl is applied and more. This is
a popular choice for menu boards. Metal surface of .006”
can be cut with a saw and may tear if routed or bent. Great
choice where high performance is needed and low cost is
Lite Grade is acceptable for most applications. .008” thick aluminum surfaces surround a durable 3MM polyethylene core. Can be routed for simple patterns with good results. Can be scored and bent for simple patterns too. Lite is popular where sheet will have moderate machining and opportunity is price sensitive. E&T carries this item in brushed aluminum, white, black and sizes up to 78” X 120”.
Extra durable metal coating that is .012” thick surrounds a durable polyethylene core. Specialty grade allows for complex fabricating with great results. Product can be scored on reverse side and bent. It can also withstand intricate routing patterns. Further advantages include maximum rigidity, strength and dynamic colors. We feature Mirrorized sheet and brushed metals. Specialty grade is priced a little higher but worth it for more demanding clients and applications.
Digital Grade (A-LITE)
Ideal for direct digital print. Digital grade provides optimal ink adhesion.
Color options include white, black and brushed aluminum.
Sizes from 48” x 96” to 78” x 120”. Digital grade available in both Lite and Economy grades.
Also known as A-LITE.
Double-sided composite panel offering greater strength and rigidity. Multishield features galvanized steel on both surfaces. Galvanized steel is receptive to magnetic media for a multitude of uses. Now available with 2 finishes- digital/digital or digital/whiteboard. Metal thickness .010” (.25MM), sheets are 48” x 96” and thicknesses of 3MM and 6MM.
